I really love how you put that, “not to resist change but to look for your place within it.” That captures so much of what I was trying to explore. It’s less about fighting the wave, more about learning to navigate it. Thanks for playing and reflecting!
This is absolutely brilliant, Jenny. Such a great take on navigating disruption, both historically and personally. The way you combine research, lived experience, and the simulation with the game to surface emotional clarity (not just technical insight) is amazing!!
Thank you so much, Daria! Your words always make the work of writing feel so worth it. I really appreciate your take on surfacing the emotional clarity, making inner peace is like the foundation of adaptation.
Brilliant. Comprehensive. Engaging. This is a post worth reading more than once. A real contribution to thinking through real life struggle and adaptation.
Thank you, Robert, that really means a lot! I wasn’t sure how this would land, so it’s encouraging to hear it connected. I appreciate you reading, and saying so.
I especially liked your use of historical data to inform your method. I’ve recommended your site to several people. I’ll give a shout out on my vitality vibes site here on substack: https://vitalityvibes48.substack.com/
Thank you for putting this into words, Jenny! I keep on thinking that history is definitely repeating itself. The funny thing about the last sort of disruption (IMO, the internet boom) is that we as a society don't realize that in 100 years we will be history. Everything now feels so contemporary and new, but the kids later down the line will see us in history books. How do we define this new era of AI? Like you are doing, it is what you make of it.
Yes, exactly! That’s been sitting with me too. We rarely recognize we’re in history while it’s happening. It feels so current, but future generations will see it all with distance. I love how you put it: how we define this era really does come down to what we choose to build and pay attention to. Thank you for sharing this heartfelt thought.
Thank you David! I’m so glad that part stood out. It grounded me too while writing it. It’s easy to feel like this moment is totally unprecedented, but looking back helps put the chaos into context. Appreciate you reading.
Thank you so much Joel! I’m glad the history piece landed, and yes, completely agree with you, real migration (literal or not) rarely happens alone. Community makes it possible and bearable.
This is a fascinating game. Though stripped down, the standout element is not to resist change but to look for your place within it.

Of course!:) I appreciate this experiment you ran. It looks like an ambitions project, and it's interesting to see how much it reflects human nature.

Especially love the reminding of what took place during the different disruptions!

This was a brilliant piece, Jenny! I particularly liked the historical breakdown as well as you highlighting the importance of community.
When I think of migration, I think of something that can only be done in community, and it’s the same here. We need other people.
Thanks for sharing!

It works for migrating ducks, community should work for us too :)
Haha fine, we are all like ducks.
I'm completely blown away by all this! Time for a drink, big decisions ahead.
Haha thanks
Awesome. Truly awesome. 🙏🥰
Thank you!
